Commando Joe's
IT’S A SECRET MISSION! SHHH!
What’s it all about then?
Commando Joe’s is a programme that has been designed to improve the educational outcomes for pupils through their RESPECT programme. Working on Resilience, Empathy, Self-awareness, Positivity, Excellence, Communication and Teamwork.
The children in key stage 1 and key stage 2 undertake one mission over a term using our COJO box which is filled with everything that is needed to complete each individual mission. It’s about realising your true potential!
Why is it SO important?
Creating the right environment for young people to develop positive character behaviours (traits) will enable them to respond well to challenges they face. Cooperating and learning with their peers in a safe environment, taking on enjoyable, relevant activities, will enable young people to make the right choices, supporting them in everyday life inside and outside school.

Character Education is at the heart of successful learning – acting as a foundation for both personal achievement and interpersonal relationships.
Who are the inspirations our children can learn R.E.S.P.E.C.T from?
Based on the lives of real-life adventurers and explorers, such as Sir Ranulph and Tim Peake, Commando Joe’ encourages pupils to learn about a different hero or heroine over each term, with practical and mental tasks to complete based on their adventures.
Designed with educationalists, each lesson is structured to give pupils the character tools and values they need to be successful in life such as resilience, determination, empathy, and courage.
Lessons are supported with “field report” films featuring Commando Joe, developed by a Bafta-winning animation company. Plus, a whole website of dedicated resources, support, celebration and reflection materials tools.
